I Want One

The talk of babies has been brought up between LD and I quit a few times in the last few months. If it were up to him I would be pregnant right now, but I have different thoughts.

Ideally I would like to have lived in our new house for at least a year. This way I can make sure that Munchkin has adjusted to the move and having LD as a father. Those are 2 huge steps for him. Who am I kidding those are big steps for me too.

Munchkin has voiced his opinion about a baby. He wants one, but only if it is a boy. I am hopeful that with him being a little older (7 this month) there won't be any sibling rivalry. If anything he will be helpful with feedings and diapers, etc.

Another concern I have is that LD's family will favor the new baby over Munchkin. I know this is most likely unavoidable, but I am hoping that the more time Munchkin spends as a family member the less chance there is that he will be pushed aside. I will just have to make sure that I show Munchkin plenty of attention to make sure he doesn't notice the lack of from others.

The reason I bring this up is because it seems like everyone around me is having a baby and it is making my resistance break down. I am to the point now that I want to start as soon as we say "I do". Not right after, but you get my point. Can we say honeymoon baby.

The move will determine my final decision. If Reese settles in easily then it will give me an ok to start early. Where as if he has a hard time adjusting I will put it off. I guess only time will tell.

Oooo, sticky situation. Like you said though...just play it by ear.

Count me out of all the baby stuff.

Girl...I know what you mean. I want one too - but I guess I need to find a man first, huh?

If it helps you, my brother was 6 1/2 years older and there wasn't much sibling rivalry (granted, he was a boy and I'm a girl).

Yeah, you need to just play it by ear, but I'd be all excited for you if you guys got preggo!

The baby factor. It is very important that Munchkin be treated equally...but I can't say the in-laws will do that. My son and daughter are not treated the same as my sister-in-laws daughter because I was not a favored canidate for their golden child son (grandson, brother, and nephew). My family try to make up for it, and so do I. You'll know when the time is right.

Yeah, I can see your points. And I think you're pretty smart about this stuff -- especially in thinking about Reese.

So excited you plan to join us next weekend! Squee.

You'll be fine no matter what you decide. Taking some time to adjust sounds like a good idea but at the same time I understand the desired to have a baby...they are too cute to resist!!!
